In More Threats to Existing Supplement Regulation, we urged you to take action with your local senators to protest the possible inclusion of a provision within a Senate bill that would endanger the supplement industry and, ultimately, your access to potentially life-saving supplements. Thanks to all the people who opposed this provision, the Senate did not include it within the  final version of the Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010 (S.3217) when it voted on May 19, 2010!

This is proof that by exercising our individual democratic rights, we can collectively make a difference! 

The provision at issue, also known as the "Waxman provision," would have endowed the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) with overarching authority over the supplement industry. However, we are not yet free from this threatening provision, which was included in a similar bill already passed by the House: the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 4173).

We urge you now to send another letter via e-mail to your local Congress representatives and senators, urging the removal of the Waxman provision from H.R. 4173.
