Heart, Blood and Blood Vessels

Your cardiovascular system consists of your heart, approximately 60,000 miles of blood vessels, and your blood. Blood vessels encompass arteries, capillaries and veins. Arteries carry blood from the heart to the capillaries, where cellular substances are exchanged. From the capillaries, blood travels back to the heart through the veins.

Since all the cells in your body depend on constant delivery of fresh blood for survival, creating and maintaining cardiovascular health is crucial. For optimum health, cultivate and commit to lifestyle habits that support your cardiovascular system, and know the facts about inflammation and oxidized cholesterol, and especially Lp(a). Be sure to check this section regularly for information about heart health, blood pressure, and cholesterol, among other cardiovascular topics of interest.

Please also visit the metabolic cardiology section to learn about biochemical interventions to enhance energy production in the heart.

My ecocardiogram revealed a moderate aortic stenosis which had advanced over the test performed 5 years ago. What are my chances now as I have been taking Omega Q plus, Natto plus and minerals etc. religiously for many years. What can I expect?
Thanks

My cardiologist said that I have the "good type" of cardiomyopathy. What is the life expectancy? I am 53 years old and was diagnosed 5 years ago. I do have a defibrillator as a precaution.

I have an anomalous left main artery from the right coronary cusp. I would like to make myself available for research. Do you know of someplace I could help? Thanks

If this is related to the percentage of blood in your sisters heart than it means that your sister's heart is only pumping out 40%. A normal heart function pumps out 50 - 70%. I hope your sister's doctor performed addition tests as well. Good luck.

Yes, see http://www.heartmdinstitute.com/health-concerns/cardiovascular-system/heart-health/atrial-fibrillation-other-arrhythmias and look under "Causes of Arrhythmia" and "Arrhythmia Treatments" for info about foods and beverages that can work for and against a healthy heartbeat.
