Stephen Bezruchka, an ER doc and lecturer at the University of Washington, explains through radio interviews and articles the link between social isolation and health. For example, I remember hearing him say that people who are admitted to the hospital with family and friends recover quicker than people admitted to the hospital alone. Hi Natural Med! Makes sense that if there's an emotional component to disease, that treating disease, in part, with love and compassion at the emotional / psychological level will help the person recover from it! I wish conventional medicine would stop focusing so much on the physical pathology and take a more holistic approach in both diagnosis and treatment. Thanks for your wonderful post!
