I have a friend who has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, going on near 20 years now. That in itself is astounding that she has been with us for so long. She does get excellent medical care and total and unconditional love and support from her spouse and children. When the diagnosis first came to light, she had 3 young teenagers as well as a husband to take care of. Well, now the tables were turned, and they needed to take care of her. It was a mess in the beginning, and I thought it was my duty and responsibility to make her home run smoothly. Setting up chore charts for the kids, making food, trying to straighten up the house.
