Some people cringe when they hear the word exercise. I like to recommend that people do some sort of movement instead of exercise, because movement sounds much gentler and more appealing.
Our bodies are designed to move regularly whether it's walking, running, swimming, cycling, rowing, etc. Even going to the gym and lifting weights and riding the elliptical machine are forms of movement.
It all comes down to semantics, but it makes a big difference in what people are willing to do! Many more people will engage in daily movement, but shy away from daily exercise. |
