Drew Sinatra, N.D., L.Ac., M.S.A. is a board-certified and licensed naturopathic physician, and a graduate of Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. He is also a licensed Five Element acupuncturist and graduated from Wu Hsing Tao School in Seattle, WA. Drew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Franklin and Marshall College, in Lancaster, PA.

Drew's father, Dr. Stephen Sinatra, helped spark his son’s interest in natural medicine at a young age. Witnessing his son’s suffering through bouts with chronic asthma and allergies, Dr. Stephen Sinatra suggested that Drew alter his diet, take herbal medicines like licorice root, and address the psycho-emotional component of his dis-ease. After many months of lifestyle modifications and use of natural medicines, Drew overcame asthma and his reliance on pharmaceuticals like albuterol inhalers and steroids. Drew realized then that the body has an innate intelligence to heal itself given the right tools and supportive measures.

Spending one year immersed in a wilderness awareness program proved to be another life-changing experience for Drew. Every day, he spent time outdoors observing the behaviors of birds and animals, identifying and using plant medicines, learning survival skills, and becoming attuned to the cycles of Nature. Soon after the wilderness program, Drew began studying Five Element acupuncture. He found this system of acupuncture, deeply rooted in the cycles of Nature, to be a powerful tool for awareness.

“The  five elements in Nature - wood, fire, earth, metal, and water also exist as energies within our bodies, which can become unbalanced due to stress,” says Drew. “Receiving Five Element acupuncture is like spending time in nature; it helps establish a connection between the external and internal worlds by balancing the five elements.” Drew’s fascination with alternative medicine also grew after conducting collegiate research for, and co-authoring, a peer-reviewed article on the effects of CoQ10 on behavioral activity in mice.

Drew currently lives and practices medicine with his wife, Briana Sinatra, in White Rock, Canada. The multidisciplinary clinic is called LivingWellness. Also, as a co-instructor at Vital Medicine, he co-leads 4-day wilderness immersion programs to foster a greater appreciation for the healing potential of nature. Drew is also a guest lecturer at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA.

In his private practice, Dr. Drew Sinatra strives to identify the cause of disease, rather than treat symptoms, and uses herbal medicines, homeopathy, diet modification, counseling, energy medicine, and Five Element acupuncture to support his patients’ healing processes. Dr. Drew Sinatra likes to remind patients that “health is a journey, not a destination; we must continuously work hard at optimizing our health.”

When not practicing medicine, Drew enjoys spending leisure time with his wife Briana, also a naturopathic physician and TCM Acupuncturist. The couple recently traveled for three months throughout Thailand, Indonesia, and Nepal, and experienced, first-hand, indigenous healing practices like herbal steam baths, hot springs, Thai massage, and meditation. Drew’s other pastimes include photography, cooking, preparing herbal medicines, playing drums and listening to world music, reading, practicing yoga, spending time with family and friends, and just about anything that involves being outdoors.

Healing engages the mind, body and spirit. Breathing bridges them.

"Breathing in, I calm my body.
Breathing out, I smile.
Dwelling in the present moment
I know this is a wonderful moment."
